WHAT IS CRYSTALYX?

CRYSTALYX is a high energy, mineralised feed lick with a range of products available suitable for all classes or ruminating cattle and sheep (including organic systems). Crystalyx can also be fed to deer and goats.

CRYSTALYX contains no fibre and negligible moisture, being produced by a unique cooking process (rather like treacle toffee).

The licks are virtually unaffected by rain and do not break up on weathering.

HOW IS CRYSTALYX FED?

CRYSTALYX is licked by stock, not chewed or bitten, which results in a continuous intake of nutrients throughout the day.

The product is convenient to use, being available in 80kg tubs and 22.5kg mini-tubs which can be fed either at pasture or in yards on a free access basis.  CALFLYX is also available in a 5kg lick for very young calves.

Free-access to rock salt is recommended.  Animals will regulate salt intake according to requirement and will actively seek it out when deficient.

WHAT DOES CRYSTALYX DO?

CRYSTALYX is formulated to balance grass and grass-silage based rations by providing the major minerals trace elements and vitamins known to be deficient in forages and fully meeting AFRC 1980 recommended intakes.

The high sugar content of all CRYSTALYX products (from dehydrated molasses) provides an important supply of fermentable energy for rumen microflora to help stimulate ruminal fermentation and forage digestion.

Stock fed CRYSTALYX should have 24 hour access to forage for best results.  CRYSTALYX does not replace forage – it complements and balances it.

Independent university research has shown that feeding CRYSTALYX improves forage digestibility and intakes by stimulating rumen fermentation, resulting in improved animal performance.
